Requirements
Safety
at least 18 years old
able to pass a background check
Availability
attend six 2-hr trainings
have ongoing/future availability Sunday mornings and Wednesday evenings to volunteer and train
Note: during summer we host everything in the evenings due to heat
Impact
interested in making an impact in the lives of local youth
provide a $50 contribution
Please note this is waived for BIPOC; this helps to offset your background check cost + 12 hours of training.
Training Agenda
- Introduction to social circus and the Uprise Circus community
- Organization rules, roles, and responsibilities
- Rigging basics and safety
- Ensuring participant safety and tackling emergencies
- Youth engagement and behavioral management
- Flying trapeze training and how to teach the process
